Our work in social media has enabled us to propel Tropicana into the Social Brands 100 listings of the top 100 social media brands. We’re in constant communication with Tropicana consumers through the ‘Breakfast Club’, Twitter and Facebook activity. One key area of conversation we kept hearing was the types of flavours people would love to create or try.
So, we decided to give Tropicana fans the opportunity to actually have their own flavour made by developing the ‘Creation Station’ on Facebook.
By becoming a fan of Tropicana on Facebook, people could access the ‘Creation Station’ app, which enabled them to select fruits, create their own flavour of juice and name it. With over 21 fruits to choose from there were over 300,000 possible combinations. Everyone had the opportunity to win a free litre of juice or money off voucher, while one lucky winner would go on to have their juice actually made.
The app was available on Facebook through July and in that four-week spell registered 46,000 visits, with almost 50% of people completing the app and more than 18,000 sharing their experience across Facebook and Twitter. Sweet.
